Wildlife Associates was founded in 1980 by Steve Karlin, a former National Park Service ranger and renowned environmental educator who has appeared on local and national news, PBS, CNN, Larry King Live, Discovery, Disney, Animal Planet, National Geographic Explorer and on his own nationally syndicated environmental news segment, Earth Journal.
Twenty-two years ago, Steve pioneered the live animal wildlife assembly and gathered a professional staff of wildlife specialists, naturalists and environmental educators that became the "Associates" of Wildlife Associates. Steve and his team developed the educational methodology we call "Natural Systems Teaching," a teaching method that uses living wildlife within an experiential learning environment. Wildlife Associates live animal educational programs continue to receive national acclaim.
Wildlife Associates provides over 1,000 educational programs each year to both children and adults. We reach students in preschools, elementary schools, middle schools, high schools and on college campuses. Adult programs include corporate training seminars, personal development workshops and lectures to professional groups and community organizations. Always growing, we have recently begun a collaborative program called "Wild Teachers for Youth" that works with at-risk teens at our 120-acre wildlife sanctuary.
Wildlife Associates has reached over 7 million students since its inception and has grown to become the largest educational outreach program of its kind in North America.

"It was so exciting to observe your program and see how you incorporate not only a love for animals, but learning kindness and pro-social skills for humans as well. These are so necessary in today's society. Many of these lessons are not learned in home environments."
